We pride ourselves on our lodge dinners. They happen every second and fourth Monday and start at 6:30. Its a great way to enjoy the company of lodge members, or to introduce friends to the Lodge (guests are always free. If you are thinking of coming, please RSVP us at metrotime@comcast.net, so we can prepare enough food.

Donation cost $6.00

Please come early to join us for dinner before the meeting, beginning at 6:30pm. Please RSVP if you plan on attending to Barbara Jervis at metrotime@comcast.net  so we get enough food.

Our Installation Dinner Crab Feed will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013. It is now January and the Crab Feed is Coming!

Mail checks for $30 each dinner to Sycamore Lodge, P.O. Box 125, Hayward, Ca 94543 or give your checks to Carol Conway or Ann Seitz at the meeting on January 14th.  Or send them via carrier pigeon, but please get your checks in by January 18 for the lower price of $30.  After Jan 18 the price rises to $35.


RAFFLE ITEMS

Please bring raffle items to the meeting on Monday, or you can bring them to the lodge on Saturday, January 26 from 10AM to 2PM.  Barbara Jervis is assembling some really neat door prize and raffle baskets.  Or you can bring them by Carol and Terry’s house and drop them off on our nice new porch, 1868 E Street.  Please let us know if you will offer a silent auction item!  Contact Carol at carolalto@sbcglobal.net with your silent auction service items so we can write up a blurb.  Be sure to include any time/date restrictions and minimum bid for each item.  Service items might include instruction in a skill (Excel, dancing, Quickbooks, knitting, jam making, etc.) or performing a task (airport rides, pet sitting, organizing, handyman services, etc.) performing, or cooking dinners, desserts, whatever to be delivered or dinner at your home.


Dinner Schedule and Menu:

6:00 PM – 6:50 PM:  Hors d’oervres and beverages  - chance to view raffle prizes and bid on silent auction items.  Please plan to pay for silent auction items after the dinner.

7:00-8:30 PM.  Dinner

Menu:  Crab with choice of two sauces (or glazed game hen with apple-cranberry chutney), fresh tossed salad with homemade herb vinaigrette dressing,  Rene’s garlic bread, pasta with Carol’s homemade marinara sauce, wine or beverages.

Dessert is French Chocolate Mousse ala Jacques Pepin or fresh fruit cup.  Raffle and auction will go on during dessert.  Expect that dynamic duo, Rene and Gary, to make a return appearance!

Around 8:30 PM installation of officers will take place in the dining room so you can continue to enjoy your beverages and desserts.

Silent or live auction winners be prepared to pay for your item after dinner.  


Volunteers Needed:  We still need a couple of volunteers to help with checking in guests and sale of raffle tickets.  After dinner, we can use a few folks to do a rough cleanup and get all food debris down to the garbage cans.  On Tuesday Terry and Frank could really use an extra person or two to help with final cleanup.  Come on guys, this is a gender-neutral opportunity!

nobody has to feel that they have given away their item for next to nothing.

In later bulletins we will be outlining the tasks that need to be done and seeking members to join the committee.  By dividing up the work no task needs be large.  Members Terry Hunt and Carol Conway are co-chairs; Terry will be procuring the crab and Carol will be planning the dinner and making the pasta sauce and pasta as last year.
