Meet Our Members
I am Barbara Jervis and
“I am an Odd Fellow”
I joined the Odd Fellows because I believe in their philosophy. I like the idea of the lodge interacting with the community, I enjoy the camaraderie that we engage in, being a member I have met and made some new friends, being a member has pushed me at times to bring myself to do things out of my comfort zone, that is a good thing. The lodge is a wonderful place to go…. you never know which member you might run into on any given day while there.
I have been married to my husband, Croft, for 44 years and we have 2 sons. My pet children are my 3 cats. My husband and I enjoy traveling, whether by train, ship, plane, car, or our touring motorcycle. We have been and lived in the Hayward area for most of our adult life.
Hobbies and fun things to do:
Some things I enjoy doing are photography, sewing, making quilts, I am a collector of many things….I collect dolls , teapots and pins, I also enjoy baking. Being with the family and riding my Metro scooter on family outings (all together there are five of us), you can find me on any Sunday watching a NASCAR race or watching a figure skating competition on TV. I have been learning to play piano, and am a volunteer at the Hayward Library as a Literacy Plus tutor. Being a volunteer and getting involved with our neighborhood and community is a very rewarding feeling.
As an Odd Fellow member I hope to join and head other committees and help plan some fun events for our members in the future. I am currently on several committees and hope to join others as time goes on. Be able to travel and visit other Odd Fellow Lodges.
